Facebook Restriction #4: Can't Chane Group Names With Over 200 Members

On September 9th, i wrote an article about facebook's restrictions

For example they've got restrictions on how many pages you can 'like' and on how many people can be 'friends' with, and on how many groups you can join.

Now i've found a forth restriction, If you're group has over two hundred members you aren't allowed to change the name of your group, huh? Why, prevent administrators (owners) to change the names of their groups, anyway?

In early 2009, that facebook wrote a blog post saying that they made it easier for people to change the name of their groups.

Group administrators commonly write into us to change the names of the Facebook Groups they have created. Sometimes the reason is as simple as fixing spelling errors and typing mistakes. Other times, a group's purpose has evolved and it needs a name that better reflects its goals. Now, group administrators can make these changes themselves, at any time.

In the 2009 post they didn't say it was going be based on how many members you have.

I think its quite ridiculous that now in 2011, facebook's going to only allow 'small' group administrators (owners) to change their names and 'large' groups can't change names. I thought  they wanted to make it 'easy' in 2009. Now they took the ability away from the 'large' groups.

I know some of you may be asking why would you want to change the name of your group? Some groups are created to promote a cause and what if that cause changes? And now you're stuck with your original name of the group. Seems quite ridiculous to not allow some groups to change their names, right?
